You reach a stage in your life when, instead of attending birthday parties, your weekend calendar fills up with weddings and engagements. Lately I’ve also been getting more and more wedding photography requests from friends. So when I heard the good news from Tuan, whom I’ve been friends with since uni days, I was delighted.
After Tuan moved up to Queensland to study Medicine, he used to tell me how he missed Melbourne and its grey and rainy skies. Now he says he doesn’t mind the Brisbane sunshine, and I wonder how much of this is because he’s met Tina, the love of his life.

Tina, you’re so beautiful.

Tuan, you scrubbed up pretty alright yourself.

The ceremony was held at the St Michaels Uniting Church

Can you spot me in the crowd holding a long white lens? Perhaps the next photo will give you a clue 😉

The day Tuan and Tina got married, Melbourne delivered rain, and lots of it. But this didn’t dampen anyone’s spirit. The CBD provided plenty of locations for shelter and photos. Otherwise, just grab an umbrella! How romantic is the light drizzle as backdrop, for dancing in the summer rain…

Love never dies

Their reception was later held at the opulent Park Hyatt

I love their signature dome ceiling

Check out the amazing crystal candle holders as centre piece!

Tuan and Tina did a quick dance rehearsal before reception, I was super impressed by their elegant waltz….

… and apparently the crowd was equally impressed as well

The best part of photographing a friend’s wedding is that it’s that much more personal, it’s even better than being a guest at their wedding because I’m at the centre of the action where there is rarely a dull moment. Thanks for the opportunity Tina and Tuan, and congratulations!
